So Rachel, how did the concept and vision of The Dream Institute come about?

The concept of The Dream Institute came from the idea of empowering people and building their capacity within their communities. At The Dream Institute we teach them the skills they need, kind of like training the trainer. We do this by providing people with information, coaching, international travel, and through resource education. The Dream Institute is an academy of learning.

Wow, so where do you see this flourishing organization in the next 5 years?

Our goal is to create vision laboratories, something similar to an office but not an office. These vision laboratories would be resources for communities, organizations, and businesses to use to affect change. In addition to that we want to continue what we are doing now and translate that into other countries and plant ourselves in communities all over the world. We are looking to continue work within the country of Gambia, and eager to visit South Africa and India in the future.

Spoken from a true philanthropist. So let's rewind back, in recent events, what's next for The Dream Institute?

We are gearing up for a program that will allow graduate students from the University of Maryland - Baltimore the opportunity to facilitate internationally. The campaign will be named "It's Monumental" and will take place in Gambia, West Africa. This is going to serve as an awareness campaign that will provide education in the community through experiential learning, youth leadership courses, learning about mental health care and additional seminars.

This is great Rachel, Urban Argyle is excited for all the moves you're making! Is there anything else you want viewers to know about?

Yes, our first annual DreamGirl Conference took place in Cleveland, OH and it was very successful so be on the lookout for the DreamGirl Movement! It is a separate division under The Dream Institute that will connect young girls ages 13-18 and mentors ages 21-35. We are going to continue to build bridges and give these young women the tools to empower their peers. Within the next year we plan to drive full force in different cities all over the United States.
